My Dog Growls! Yes it's true dog growl! The following is a blog to help humans understand dog growling not a guide to modify it..Please don't attempt behavior modifications without consulting an experienced professional about your specific situation! Growling is a valuable means of communication for a dog – something that dog owners should appreciate and respect rather than punish. Of course, we don’t want our dog to growl at us or anyone for no good reason but neither do we want him to fail to growl if something makes him uncomfortable; that’s very important information in a successful canine-human relationship. |

So here you are with a new K-9 friend. You found him at your local rescue and he's so cute and all yours. Now what? When we adopt a rescue (Or any dog) we must remember that we are bringing home an animal that is never plug and play ready. It takes patience, time, dedication and affection to have your very own Lassie (Just in case you didn't know their were three Lassie's to shoot each episode!). Where to start....Practice being calm, relaxed and understanding with what life hands you. |

It's two in the morning and I'm watching TV on the couch surrounded by dogs. The amazing thing about this moment is that I could be sitting here alone. You see each one of these amazing dogs was scheduled to be put down. Each one had a different reason for why they were in that situation. But the one I'm going to focus on is aggression! I have three dogs, one laying at my feet, one behind me and one with her head on my lap! All three of these dogs were hours away from leaving this earth because somebody claimed they were aggressive! |

Hello Pack Leaders, Well I've received several questions about dealing with rescued dogs. Let me start by saying that all dogs, whether rescued, bought from a pet store or from a breeder, live in the present. So no matter what has happened in the past, with the right attitude from his Human Pack Leader and the right choice of dog, your dog can becomeyourperfect dog. So let's talk a little about the perfect dog. The perfect dog is healthy, happy and balanced that much most of us will agree. |
